Ayscrim Studios is proud to present this collaboration with Quebec City's Kings of Surf, The Babalooneys!

Designed by the band’s drummer and graphic artist, Chany Lagueux, "Winternationals" and "Pomona Fireball" highlight a recurring yet understated theme in surf music: classic motor racing. Inspired by songs from The Babalooneys’ discography, each design captures the energy and nostalgia of 1960s racing.

Finished in automotive-grade paint, including Tropical Glitz Premium Kustom Flake, these 9" × 7" × 5.5" wooden cabinet score reel clocks are produced in a limited run of 10 units per design. Each piece is signed and numbered by Chany Lagueux.

Chany Lagueux

A graphic designer since 2000, he founded his first studio in 2001, which he left at the end of 2007. He then spent a brief period at Cossette before continuing to work with his own clients. In 2014, he became one of the two founding members of CRITERIUM, which he left in 2024 to pursue new challenges.

His work focuses on visual identity as well as print and editorial design for a wide range of clients, including institutions, cultural organizations, artists, and businesses. Since 2001, he has received numerous national and international awards, including recognition from Communication Arts, the Advertising & Design Club of Canada, and Applied Arts, among others.

Since 1993, he has played drums in several bands from the Quebec City area, including Groundless, Les Dokteurs, 3DKIDS, and currently, The Babalooneys. In addition to design and music, he spends most of his time skateboarding, publishing a skateboard zine (Balustrade), and being with his family.
